I've been on hubpages for a while now and thought it was time to show some community spirit. There's this thread on the forums where people recommend each other's hubs. I thought I'd pick the best spiritual and religious hubs shown there and feature them here.

However, many of those hubs turned out to have been unpublished or deleted since then. In those cases I looked at the suggestions given by hubpages itself, just to mix things up a bit.

And no - I did not read the whole thread (it's huge).

Just giving back a bit :)

Thanksgiving Harvest Festival of Malaysian Borneo

Thanksgiving Harvest Festivals are common in South East Asian countries such as in Borneo (East Malaysia and Indonesia), Thailand and The Philippines. Rice being the common staples in these countries are harvested during the month of May after which much merry making are carried out. Many religious rituals are performed and they differ from community to community. However the common factor is the joyous celebrations and thanksgivings for another year of bountiful rice harvest.

So you wanna be a Witch, eh? ^_^

You have my congratulations, then! Despite a LOT of negative stereotypes over the past several centuries, more and more people are coming to find that not only is Wicca not an evil religion, but that it's actually quite a beautiful one! But where to start reading?

Meditation shows thoughts are BEYOND the brain

For many years now I've been pursuing a quest for spiritual awareness. Not content to be told about non-physical worlds, I began practices of meditation, self awareness in the pursuit of Self (Atman) and principles of a more 'devine' nature than I had been experiencing in my ordinary day to day life.

Who Defines Morality?

Let's talk about abortion. If your moral code says that life begins at the moment of conception, then you should not have an abortion. But if you then prevent someone else from having an abortion, you are violating her right to live her life as she sees fit. And you've overstepped your bounds. You are forcing her to live according to your definition of what is moral.

Blind Faith

Christ is my pilot when storm winds blow

When clouds are dark and going slow.

When waves are rough and deep ahead

Christ is my pilot, by Him I'm led.

Bible Verse with Beautiful Images

riving back and fourth to my new job for 20 some minutes is a drag. But seeing how beautiful God has light the way really lifts me up. So I decided to put together a few bible verse along with some beautiful nature sceneries.

Myths and Legends about Gemstones

Crystals, minerals and metals have played various roles in the myths and legends of human cultures throughout history. They are fascinating examples of the attempts of the men and women of ancient times to explain their world without the benefit of science and with each culture's biases, superstitions and interests impressed upon them and therefore provide us with an especially vivid picture of the psychology of ancient man.

Contradictions Between Different Versions of the Bible

This following hub might piss off a few people, but it's one that I have to write. This hub isn't to proclaim that the Bible (the Word of God) is a bunch of lies (it's not), but to show how mankind has completely messed around with God's Word.

The Power Of Now

Recently I read the Power of Now by Eckert Tolle. I have heard alot about the book and it's step by step introduction into meditation. I have meditated in the past, but never felt the sensations I felt before the knowledge of how to live in the Now.

Clearing out the mind

Perhaps this may seem a little disrespectful to some people but it's not meant in that way. Besides if you're inclined to listen to Buddhism then you'll realise that 'respectful' and 'disrespectful' don't really exist. They're just products of the mind that passes judgement on the world and consequently we cling to this judgement and identify it as ourselves.

'This is my belief so this defines me.'

Instant Karma's Gonna Get You

It's a commonplace term these days. We talk about "karma" to refer to a process of cause and effect whereby our actions determine what we receive in this life. Sort of "what goes around comes around". Or, to put it another way, if I do a bad thing one day, I will be bound to pay for it the next. Likewise, if I do a good thing, I will be bound to receive my just rewards.

The problem with this is that it treats karma as like some sort of a cosmic bank-account.

Compassion - Simple Kindness

On all levels, from the most humble person to those who guide the nations, how can we bring to the attention of the majority the need for compassionate action? How can we bring the need for compassion to the forefront of everyone’s minds? Will this kind of action be the only thing that will help our planet survive? I think so. How did it get to be a big issue with me, personally?

“The Church” - Don't Damn it until you understand it

“The Church” then is made up of participants, seekers, and persons of beliefs much like your own. Damning the whole Christian community for the way certain churches go about their missions or for their beliefs is much like damning you for something that occurred in the town you reside in – irrational, ill-mannered and uninformed. Finding a "church" is just a matter of finding a group of Christians who share your beliefs or are open to listening to you and allowing you to find your answers in a loving and accepting environment. Social networking offering support and unbiased love through shared ideals and service is really what "church" is all about.

Numerology - The Truth

My objective in this article is to clarify some common mistakes made about the academic study of Numerology, mainly based on stereotypical assumptions due to scam websites and tarot affiliation. If we look back into history we can see that many well respected scientists and philosophers such as Newton, Pythagoras, Einstein, Plato and civilizations such as the Ancient Babylonians, Greeks and Egyptians dedicated their lives to exploring and studying numbers and their importance in our lives. It is also interesting that if we study nature we can see patterns emerge.
