Religious calendars and planners 2012

Christianity is the largest of the world religions. It starting with the life of Jesus, his death and resurrection. The major holiday of Christianity is Christmas, which celebrates the birth of Christ. The major holy book of Christianity is the Bible, which contains the sacred scriptures of the Jews till about the birth of Christ (the old testament). The New Testament is the stories about the life of Jesus and also contains letters by his apostles.

Despite Islam being the second largest religion in the world, and there being at least a million Muslim in the USA, calendars for this group are rare. I've found two.

One features Mosques, the other is a perpetual calendar with Quran quotes.

The Quran is the holy book of the Islamic faith.

Despite being best known for it's many Gods, most Hindu's believe there is ONE God that is the source of all being. However, they differ in how that God is called. Some will call him Shiva, others Vishnu or Krishna. Some will see her as a she, the mother of all being: Shakti.

Either way, I've found you only one Hinduism calendar: it features the art of the famous B.G. Sharma.

Judaism is an ancient religion with roots in Mesopotamia. It is an ethnic religion, just like most of Hinduism: birth defines who is a Jew.

Jews were a familiar sight in Europe, till Nazi Germany killed millions in the second world war. The largest population of Jews lives in the United States these days. Israel comes a good second.

However, it's not just teens that are turning to this pagan faith: many wiccans have grown up into parents by now, raising their kids in the faith.

Witches believe in the balance of nature, which includes both a male and a female god. They usually celebrate wiccan sabbats.

The upcoming religion for educated adults is Buddhism. However, there's also a large population of Asian immigrants and their children in the USA who grew up Buddhist. Tiger Woods is a recent celebrity who came out as such. Of course he is not exactly what you'd call a 'good Buddhist', but perhaps he is trying.
